Q: What are TED and TEDx?

A: TED is a worldwide conference series created under the motto "ideas worth spreading". TED grants volunteers licenses to organise local independent TEDx events. During these events, speakers with different backgrounds share their interests, ideas and experience. Every TED talk is recorded on video and will be uploaded with translations on YouTube, on our site (http://tedxsofiauniversity.com) and the official TED website.

Q: When and where will TEDxSofiaUniversity take place?

A: The event will be held in Theatre Laboratory "Alma Alter", Sofia, Bulgaria on 12th May from 09:00 to 19:00.

Q: What are the lectures like?

A: Each lecture is up to 18 minutes long and can cover various topics - everything from business and education to technology and science.

Q: How do I sign up to attend?

A: We will announce signups to attend soon.

Q: Will the lectures be recorded on video?

A: Yes. Please read the Privacy Policy for more information.

For speakers

Q: How do I sign up to talk at the event?

A: The sign up form is available on the homepage.

Q: Is there a specific theme around the speakers?

A: No.

Q: Can I advertise in my lecture?

A: No, speakers are not allowed to advertise products/services, ask for funding or plug their books.

Q: Can my lecture be about politics?

A: Generally yes. However, speakers are not allowed to advocate for parties, party platforms and political leaders in their talks -- nor should they insult them. Prefer to talk about problems and possible solutions instead.

Q: Can my lecture promote a single religion?

A: Speakers are discouraged of promoting a single religion or new age beliefs, including concepts such as quantum consciousness, Gaia theory, archaeoastronomy, and drug-induced spiritual epiphanies .

Q: Can my lecture be about pseudoscience?

A: No. The claims speakers make must be scientifically proven and testable.

Q: What language can my lecture be in?

A: Bulgarian or English. The videos will be translated to various other languages.
